The Sunflower Golf Pass Initiative
Our mission is to leverage the popularity and passion for golf to make a positive impact on the North Alabama community in 2024. Our goal is to raise $200,000 to be directly poured back into the community.
What makes us unique is that we raise money and awareness for other non-profits through the game of golf. We cover the cost of all expenses of each tournament. This allows us to donate all of the proceeds raised from the tournament including, Sponsorships, silent auctions, and video campaigns.
The Courses
-
Burning Tree
Decatur, Alabama
Burningtree Country Club is proud of its architect, George Cobb, as much a well-kept secret as Burningtree itself!
The golf course is 18 holes of challenging, competitive golf for players of all Ages and skill levels. Mature, traditional. That's Burningtree, a course featuring champion bermuda greens and 419 bermuda fairways, providing you with optimal playing conditions for all skill levels. Spread over 150 acre, Burningtree is roomier than any course in town.
-
Cherokee Ridge
Union Grove, Alabama
Cherokee Ridge truly offers golf at a higher level, with immaculate greens set against a spectacular Appalachian backdrop. This 18-hole championship golf course takes every advantage of rolling hills, whispering woods, lakes, and streams – natural beauty that enhances, not punishes. Much of the front nine is guarded by a 17-acre sparkling lake – an added challenge and certainly a beautiful diversion. The back nine turns through a forest of pines and hardwoods, with three holes reconfigured to include a view of a 40-foot waterfall cascading into Lynn’s Creek.
-
Gunter's Landing
Guntersville, AL
Eighteen masterfully crafted holes offering awe inspiring beauty with a choice of difficulty ranging from moderate to darn tough! Imagine playing a manicured golf course where every hole leaves you with the impression that yours is the only foursome on the course. Winding through this lush green forest it seems every hole provides a new and exciting experience.
-
RTJ Golf Trail at the Shoals
Muscle Shoals, AL
The Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail at The Shoals is home to two 18-hole championship courses and sits high above Wilson Lake on the Tennessee River. The Fighting Joe course at The Shoals was the first Trail course to break 8,000 yards, measuring some 8,092 yards from the black tees. The second course, the Schoolmaster (named for President Woodrow Wilson, who was responsible for getting Wilson Dam built and was also known as "The Schoolmaster" of politics), opened in 2005.
